The latest release delivers additional collision avoidance by checking Link moves between all Milling cycles. Not only has Corner Relief been added, but the system now offers four variants of the command.
Wire EDMįurther advanced controls are available for Edgecam’s 2- and 4-axis Wire EDM machining cycles. Fillets and corner blends are also supported. For the rapid creation of uniform profiles, EWS has introduced a Slotting Tool command, which quickly and easily adopts any profile shape, adding width and depth to the feature. Numerous enhancements have been made to Edgecam’s internal modeling software, Edgecam Workflow Solids (EWS). The NC output is adjusted using the high feed rate of the machine tool. Where voids or intersecting holes are detected, the tool path is automatically adjusted, increasing the feed rate while the tool is not cutting. Using the enhanced Hole Cycle in Edgecam 2015 R2 provides significant time savings. The tool path reaches the full area with a single path, offering two types of cut pattern. The Advanced 5-Axis Cycle capability has a new Port Machining module, offering both roughing and finishing strategies. This leads to a better understanding of which machining features are active, and means multiple transfers can be made between spindles. The Lathe Set-Up command has been enhanced, allowing for clearer definition of Main and Sub-Spindle components. Following are just a few highlights of what’s available in this powerful manufacturing software.
Overall, Edgecam 2015 R2 contains approximately 50 items of new and enhanced functionality.
EDGECAM TURN PRICE UPGRADE
Highlights include an upgrade to the multi spindle lathe set up, a new port machining module for its renowned 5-axis cycle, and significant time savings through the enhanced hole cycle. Edgecam, a member of Partners in THINC, has released Edgecam 2015 R2, which contains a number of important new and enhanced CAD and CAM functionalities for milling, turning, and wire EDM.
